About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our school-based team in Bergen County, NJ. You'll work with students from PreK through 12th grade who have physical disabilities or developmental challenges — helping them improve mobility, access their learning environments, and build independence that carries beyond the classroom.
This is a full-time, in-person position with a supportive multidisciplinary team, flexible scheduling, and the kind of work that genuinely matters.
What you'll be doing:
Evaluating students and developing individualized physical therapy plans in coordination with IEP teams
Delivering direct PT services in school settings across Bergen County
Collaborating with teachers, OTs, SLPs, and parents to support student success
Training school staff on positioning, mobility, and assistive equipment
Maintaining accurate documentation compliant with IDEA and NJ state requirements
Requirements
Evaluate and assess students with physical challenges impacting educational access.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans (IEPs) in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Provide direct physical therapy services in accordance with students’ IEPs.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success.
Train school staff in positioning, mobility, and assistive equipment use.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all federal/state guidelines.
Licensed Physical Therapist
Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Pediatric experience preferred, particularly in school or educational settings
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of IDEA and IEP process
